P.S. Do click on the picture to view it in all its glory. Even the thunderous weather is reflective of today's victory. Federer all storm and fury under a cloudy Parsian sky.
Ted Robinson quote: "We always want to see the king defeated, but it's impossible to feel that way about Roger Federer."

But a litlle voice keeps nagging at me, is the victory really the same without Nadal?

Yes, he finally won!!!! I was afraid he would choke a bit at 5-4 but he pulled through with grace and elegance. The greatest tennis player of all time!
Nice comments by soderling, why did Federer have to talk in french.Well any ways he has finally managed to win all 4 grand slams hopefully he can win wimbledon too and well most prolly that is the end of Soderling's best two weeks.

Well the only difference would have been that Federer would have just cried more if he were to beat Nadal.
Sure it's the same without Nadal.
Its not like Nadal wasn't playing the tournament or was injured or anything. He had to earn the Final spot just like Federer, and Federer did beat the guy Nadal couldn't.
A slightly different point of view is to be found at http://dcubed.blogspot.com/2009/06/14.html .
'Njoy!
:)
just saw replay of highlights. Great. And, yes, it may have been more fun for the fans to see Frd vs. Nadal, but if Nadal didn't make it t the finals it's not as if that takes anything awy from Federer
I think the fact that Federer reached won the title beating the man who beat Nadal is pretty much as good as a Nadal-Federer final.Fed also had a MUCH tougher draw than Nadal and the fact that he managed to tough out 2 five set matches against Haas and Del Potro , both of whom are very accomplished players shows that he really is better than Nadal as well as being GOAT.
aur bhi dukh hain zamanay mein federer ke siva
rahatein aur bhi hain tennis ki rahat ke siva
...update your blog, lady. :)
I know, am bit late in this blog :) ..
Federer won his first match in wimbeldon Yesterday. All I want him to get just one more Grand Salam and thats about it. I am not sure about Wimbeldon but U.S Open would be another HISTORY.
and he's done it! i'm still in euphoria!
